WHOOF (White Horse out on Foot) comprises walks (with or without dog), usually on a Sunday, and always finishing at the pub. Anyone is welcome. It's usually rather ad hoc, and often arranged the day before. Just ask at the pub and someone should be able to let you know when the Whoofters are setting off. Otherwise write to the address above.
p.s. If you want to go somewhere with your dog and are concerned about your welcome, check out the Bring The Dog website.
In addition to Sunday walks, WHOOF also undertakes longer adventures. For example, five intrepid Whoofters completed the West Highland Way in October 2005.
Beware! The one in the middle talks to his hat.
In 2007 the plan was to walk Hadrian's Wall in October. Some idiot had suggested cycling it in one direction and then walking back!
Hadrian's Wall looked a bit boring so the Whoofters are open to suggestions.
